Hunger for Words was founded by Christina Hunger, a speech-language pathologist who recognised in her puppy Stella many of the traits she also sees in toddlers just before they start to talk. The Hunger for Words speech buttons combine animal psychology, speech pathology and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) into an educational and fun game in which the dog learns to make its voice heard. The Button Mat keeps the various buttons from lying around the house and holds them together in an organised way. One mat has room for six buttons.
