Puur Natuur Glucosamine Extra (Complete) is suitable for horses and ponies: for supple movement, good for building cartilage and keeps the joints supple. For stiff joints and difficulty getting going. The composition for horses contains ginger, among other things.
- Glucosamine (as glucosamine sulphate 2 KCl) is good for building cartilage and contributes to supple movement
- Chondroitin sulphate is good for the synovia (joint fluid) and thus ensures good lubrication of the joints
- Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an essential nutrient for joint tissue and important for joint function
- Ginger (Zingiber officinalis) for the maintenance of healthy cells and tissues; devil's claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) helps with recovery
- Content: 250 g
Dosage and use: unless the doctor or therapist prescribes otherwise, 2 times a day: horse 1 scoop, pony 2/3 scoop (1 scoop contains approx. 9 g). Once the animal walks smoothly again, the dosage can be reduced to once a day. If giving it several times a day is difficult in practice, once a day or once every 2 days is enough, giving the maximum dose for one day; the response may then take a little longer. Give the powder with the feed and moisten it so that it is not blown out of the feed bowl.
Duration of treatment: the effect usually becomes visible after 1 to 3 weeks. On improvement you can switch to a maintenance dose, usually half of the dose stated on the packaging. A higher dose may be needed at first; this product can safely be given at a double dose. For chronic complaints it can be given long term; it is advisable to include a week off after every 6 to 8 weeks.
Advice for use: watch the animal's response closely. Give the necessary rest, but also provide exercise; if movement is painful, regular short walks are sensible. Straight-line movement keeps the joints supple; abrupt stopping and turning must be avoided.
Combinations and interactions: can be combined without problems with regular medication such as painkillers. Interactions with regular or natural medicines are possible: ginger extracts can affect the absorption of other substances and blood clotting.
Contraindications and side effects: use during pregnancy only in consultation with the vet. At the start of treatment a short-lived worsening of complaints may occur; if complaints increase severely, halve the dose or stop temporarily and then build up gently again. No side effects of this product are known or have been reported to date.
Storage: keep dry, at 5-20 °C and out of direct sunlight. Keep out of the reach of children. The best-before date is stated on the label and the box.
