Puur Natuur Glucosamine Extra (Compleet) is for supple movement, good for building cartilage and keeps the joints supple. The composition differs per species: the 500 g version is for dogs and cats (with boswellia, among others), the 250 g version is for horses and ponies (the horse composition contains ginger, among others). Complementary feed.
- Composition dog/cat (500 g), per 4 g: 388 mg chondroitin sulphate (bovine), 343 mg glucosamine (sulphate 2KCl), 318 mg MSM, 77.7 mg magnesium (citrate), 58.3 mg vitamin B3, 1.13 mg manganese, 854 µg copper; plus Indian frankincense (boswellia), stinging nettle, white willow and blackcurrant
- Glucosamine is good for building cartilage; chondroitin is good for the joint fluid; MSM is an essential nutrient for joint tissue
- Effect usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks; on improvement you can switch to a maintenance dose (usually half); can be given long term, with a week off after every 6 to 8 weeks
Dosage dog/cat (500 g): 1-2 times a day (1 scoop is approx. 4 g): dog > 25 kg 1 scoop; dog 10-25 kg ¾; dog < 10 kg and cat ½. Can be reduced by half once the animal walks smoothly again.
Dosage horse/pony (250 g): unless the vet or therapist prescribes otherwise, 2 times a day: horse 1 scoop, pony 2/3 scoop (1 scoop is approx. 9 g). Once the animal walks smoothly again, reduce to 1x a day. Interactions with conventional or natural medicines are possible: ginger extracts can affect the absorption of other substances and blood clotting.
Store dry at 5-20 °C, out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. Use during pregnancy and lactation in consultation with the vet.
